When life hits that point where everything's just too much. Work, noise, routines…That’s usually when we look at each other and say, “St. Thomas?” And just like that, we’re booking the tickets. No big planning session, no fancy itinerary—just a familiar escape that somehow always hits the reset button.

We’re not the all-inclusive resort type. Instead, we head for the hills—literally. We rent this cozy little house tucked into the mountains from a woman who now feels more like an old friend than a host. It’s quiet, green, and peaceful. Sure, we have to drive to the beaches and restaurants, but that’s kind of the point. We love the winding roads, the views, and the feeling that we’re in it—not just vacationing on the surface.

Over the years, we’ve found our go-to spots—the ones that feed both our souls and our gluten-free stomachs (lol). Our faves:

  • Magen’s Bay – No matter how many times we go, it still takes our breath away. Especially on quiet, non-cruise ship days. Sitting at the beach bar with a cold drink, staring at that unreal turquoise water... it’s our version of therapy.

  • Old Stone Farmhouse – This one's special. It’s set in an old horse stable and somehow manages to feel both rustic and romantic. The food is consistently amazing. (And nope, not the Stone House Café down the road—that’s a different spot entirely!)

  • Oceana – We always save this one for a slower evening. Beautiful dining right on the water, where we can watch the boats glide by while enjoying some truly incredible food.

  • Prime at Paradise Point – When we’re in the mood for steak and a view that makes us stop mid-bite just to stare—this is it.

  • The Fish Bar – Super relaxed, good food, no pressure. It’s our go-to when we want to keep it simple but still eat well.

  • Day Trip to St. John – We pack a cooler, catch the ferry, and just… roam. Beaches, snacks, random little shops—every time feels like a new adventure.

  • The Barefoot Buddha – It’s a bit more boho than our usual vibe, but it’s gluten-free friendly and kind of perfect for a mellow breakfast. We usually stop here on the way to the airport—half-awake, slightly sunburned, and already wishing we had one more day.

This isn’t the trip where we do everything. It’s the trip where we don’t need to. Just sun, salt, good food, and space to breathe. Reset: complete.
